Our Linux Samba servers are built using Dell PowerEdge machines, with next day on site hardware support from Dell.

These Linux file servers are designed to share files with windows and mac users alike.

Imagine, no more having your employees log off once a week because of security patches and reboots. They are designed to run for years with out maintenance, service or restarts.

Remote monitoring of logs is available, although not required.

We initially set up the user accounts as per your description and then you simply plug it in to your network and start copying over your shares. This truly is the most hassle free business machine you will ever own. Since it is a dedicated file server, you will find it is extremely fast and does not slow with time like some operating systems.

Optionally these servers can be setup with openVPN. If you are concerned about security and access to the server from within your own organization, this becomes a simple option. The added procedure would involve installing a small txt file (key file) on each of the workstations requiring access. This ensures security from within your own network in that no machine would be allowed to connect to it without the certificate installed and it becomes virtually impossible to decrypt the data in transit. An example would be if you had a wi-fi network with open access for everyone and wanted only specific users to access the file server.
