An e-mail request will be sent to you with a link to your company Untangle server.
This is a secure link (https) meaning that no one can read the data in transit.
Privacy is paramount with VPN. as it will connect you directly to your office network as though your machine were plugged in directly at the office.
Click on the link in the e mail and it takes you to the Untangle page (on your server).
Please select one of the following files: Windows Installer
Configuration Files
Click on the one that says Microsoft Windows Installer
(I will add directions for MAC and Linux users as required).
Run the setup.exe program
This will install the openvpn client on your PC.
Like most Windows installers, you click next, next, next, continue anyway and ignore any security warnings.
Near your clock on the taskbar you will see a small computer it should be green, this means you are now connected to your office. It does not interfere, impede or in any way affect your personal computer, it simply adds a connection to the office.
To disconnect or reconnect, simply right click the icon and select. You do not have to enter usernames, passwords or any other information.
This connection is extremely secure and fast, but is limited to the speed of your Internet connection.
Now, you want to use your PC at the office as though you were sitting at it?
In Windows XP, click on the Start Button, Accessories, Communications and Remote Desktop Connection.
Enter the IP address of your work PC. This would be provided to you, by your manager.
Enter your Username and password as though you were sitting at your work machine and away you go….
